Barnet Hill Academy

Barnet Hill Academy is a 3-11 independent day-school with an Islamic faith designation, located in the London Borough of Barnet. We warmly welcome students of all backgrounds from Barnet, North-West London and beyond. Both boys and girls are welcome from the age of 3 through to 11. The school serves the local community and is located in a grand Victorian school building originally built in the early 1900's.

We're proud of our heritage as a school with such a lengthy educational legacy including our most recent reincarnation as a forward thinking school where we're proud to serve students, communities and young people from a wide range of backgrounds in fulfilling our tripartite vision and focus on Faith - Iman, Excellence - Ihsan and, Knowledge - Ilm!

We teach the National Curriculum to Years 1-6 and the Foundation Stage curriculum to our children in Reception. We aim to move the children on with their learning by finding out what they can and cannot do and then plan accordingly. Teachers review pupil progress on a regular basis and there are opportunities for parents and teachers to meet termly. At the end of the school year, parents receive a report of their child's progress in writing. Parents and teachers are encouraged to talk to each other regularly.

We want our children to learn and have fun whilst they are learning and that's what we aim to do at Barnet Hill Academy; make learning fun, enjoyable, inquisitive and a creative process so that our children develop a love for learning, reading, mathematical enquiry and everything else a rich curriculum has to offer...

At Barnet Hill Academy we utilise an innovate curriculum planning tool, Cornerstones, to design and plan our curriculum from EYFS through to Year 6. We integrate our Islamic Studies curriculum with our National Curriculum planning and this planning is shared with our parental community via Annual Curriculum Plans, Half-Termly Planning and key components of English, Maths and Islamic Studies are also shared fortnightly (Fortnightly Learning) to empower parents to assist and help with their child's learning.
