We are proud to be part of The Elliot Foundation Academy Trust (TEFAT). Claremont is a happy and thriving two-form entry school which is federated with nearby Childs Hill School. Under the leadership of Executive Headteacher, Dan Hawkins, the school is proud to serve its local community in Cricklewood. We are proud of our innovative curriculum offer, which is as easy as ABC! Every child is supported in developing their Academic ME, Being ME and Creative ME. An inclusive and progressive approach to the learning, wellbeing and imagination of every pupil within our diverse, caring and wonderfully harmonious school and new opened ARP (Additional Resource Provision for autism)

Our federation aims to achieve a clear and simple goal. We teach all of our children to value their learning, to be proud of themselves and to empathise with others. We ensure they see the worth and transformative power of creativity. We invest in their future now.

Our curriculum at Claremont Primary School is as easy as... ABC! We believe all young people have a bright future ahead of them and we know that it is our job to help them get there. By making sure they know their ABC, we offer every single child a bright future.

A is for Academic Me - The children have English and maths lessons every morning, PE twice a week and computing once a week. Books that interest the children are used to provide an example of good writing and to inspire them to write in a similar style. The children have regular reading sessions with their teacher, where they get the opportunity to talk about what they have read and understood. Lower down the school, in EYFS, the children are given the opportunity to explore traditional tales and nursery rhymes.

Across the whole school, maths lessons are centred on building a deep understanding, confidence and competency. The children are becoming assured, happy and resilient mathematicians, who relish the challenge. They are being taught to be independent, reflective thinkers, whose skills not only liberate them in maths, but also support them across the curriculum.

B is for Being Me - Wellbeing Wednesday is part of the children's weekly timetable. Every Wednesday afternoon, the children have a lesson which focuses on the zones of regulation. The children then have the rest of the afternoon to complete an activity of their choice to support their wellbeing. This may be related to another subject such as, art, PE and DT, for example. Elsewhere in the curriculum, there is an opportunity for the children to focus on the three key themes of health and wellbeing, relationships and living in the wider world. All of this is supported alongside the restorative approach and emotion coaching - both of which are supporting the staff and children to be the best that they can be.

C is for Creative Me - This is where the children’s creativity is nurtured and developed through subjects such as; Art, DT, Geography, History, Science and RE. What the children learn is a balance of their natural curiosity about the world around them and the objectives set by the National Curriculum. It is an exciting time where the children engage in learning experiences that they will never forget.

Vision & Values
The Childs Hill & Claremont Primary Federation was formed shortly before the world wide Covid 19 pandemic. If there was ever an event to test the strength, commitment and determination of a partnership that was it. Through a desire to forge something special, meaningful and lasting for our community we worked hard to establish a set of principles that have given us a foundation upon which to build. The fact that we live by these principles in what we do is the reason our community trusts us, works with us, supports us and will grow with us.

The CHC Principles

So we work hard to deliver on our principles, to deliver an education that gives our pupils learning and social capital. As a federation our vision is as easy as ABC, Academic Me, Being Me and Creative Me. Our aim is for every child to develop and enjoy their time at school learning and progressing within the three bubbles that make up our curriculum.  We are proudly inclusive and ensure that every child knows their ABC.

  • Academic Me:  The core of our curriculum focuses on reading, writing and maths and the application of these fundamental areas of learning to the wider curriculum
  • Being Me:  Personal development, health and wellbeing within our curriculum are valued and promoted. Emotional regulation, empathy, resilience and aspiration are some of the many qualities taught within our Being Me curriculum
  • Creative Me:  Our creative curriculum ensures that creativity and the opportunity to develop a passion for a subject/activity/sport or skill is offered to all our pupils. Interest in all subjects and topics is encouraged and the pupils are free to express the direction of their learning.

The CHC principles we believe in and the vision which we follow and work towards results in the values we hold as a school community. The outcome of our collective efforts, be they children’s attainment and progress, developmental milestones or creative sparks, are representative evidence of our values that we know can be seen in our schools.
