St George’s Church of England Primary School is a one form entry school nestled on the borders of Peckham and Camberwell. Situated right next to St George’s Church, we have strong links with our three parishes, St George’s, St Luke’s and St Giles’.
During their time at St George’s pupils work hard to achieve their full potential every day. Our Early Years Reception was recently graded as Good by Ofsted, and this is where we begin each pupil’s journey to success. Throughout their Primary School time as well as working hard they have annual trips to the seaside and exciting week-long residential trips within the UK.
Our School values are a key part of our daily life: Respect, Achievement, Community and Valour and we strive everyday to ensure pupils have a strong understanding of these values and that they are able to demonstrate our core values to Love God and Love thy Neighbour.
The basic equality between all human beings has always been fundamental to Anglican belief and teaching. Our school mission is founded on the biblical principles of Love God and Love Thy Neighbour. From these principles flow our values of respect, achievement, valour and community.
St George’s CE Primary School acknowledges and celebrates diversity among pupils. We are committed to the promotion of equality for all. This involves tackling the barriers which could lead to unequal outcomes so that there is equality of access and the diversity within the school community is celebrated and valued. We believe that equality at our school should permeate all aspects of school life and is the responsibility of every member of the school and wider community.
Every member of the school community should feel safe, secure, valued and of equal worth. At St George’s CE Primary School, equality is a key principle for treating all people the same, irrespective of their gender, ethnicity, disability, religious beliefs/faith tradition, sexual orientation, age or any other of the protected characteristics.
As a Church of England Voluntary Aided School, Christian values are built into the ethos. St George’s CE Primary is an Anglican school, with a distinctive Christian ethos. There is a daily act of collective worship, which encourages spiritual development and a mutual understanding of life together. Our approach to inclusion is based on the biblical belief that all are made in the image of God and are equally valuable to Him. This is rooted in the biblical values of Love God and Love your Neighbour.
The school seeks to work positively with parents and carers to fulfil the school’s expectation that all pupils are enabled to achieve at the highest level of which they are capable.
Our school building has been adapted to include ramps for wheelchair access, disabled toilets, handrails, and ground level classrooms. We are have improved our facilities for visually impaired adults and children and we have extensive Information and Communication (ICT) facilities which allow students of all abilities to use word processing as an aid to learning. We endeavour to provide any necessary equipment needed to include all children and allow them to access the curriculum successfully.
Behaviour in school is based upon respecting others and their rights, motivation, self-esteem. Children must know what is expected of them, and why. They must be able to see good models of behaviour from all adults.
We have a range of strategies to support children's emotional and social well-being and development: Small group support to develop social skills and self-esteem, lunch and after school clubs for Key Stage One and Two, opportunities to children to contribute to the school community and develop their own strengths, one to one support from our Home school Liaison officer.

Not only do they support the kids, they support parent's and families too. I love the school. If I were to have anymore kids then St George's would always be my first choice.

My daughter joined the school 3 years ago and since than she has been making an amazing progress. I love the fact teachers always encourage kids to improve their learning, stay active and respect each other. Parents are also welcomed to join their children's learning journey by taking part in many activities or projects. I am happy with my choice when it comes to this school and I am looking forward to more to come.

My children have all attended this school over the duration of at least 10years, my youngest son still attends. Iv never had any major issues relating to their time at school and when there have been issues they have worked with me and my children to resolve them...they have helped and guided me when necessary and have always been friendly and approachable!
